Andrew's October 2025 Newsletter

 Greetings! 

Things are getting curiouser and curiouser. In March, President Trump told Ukrainian President Zelinsky in the face that he had no cards to play. Now he says that Zelinsky is well placed to recover all territories lost to Russia, Putin's continuing intransigence regardless. On Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu seems hell-bent to raze the populous Palestinian city to the ground. He remains diametrically opposed to the creation of a formal Palestinian state, heedless to its recognition by 157 out of 193 countries (not including the United States). However, while apparently powerless to control Netanyahu, Trump now seems amenable to a roadmap, however fraught, towards the formation of a more benign Palestinian state. Meanwhile, Trump's sledge-hammer tariffs and nano-semiconductor-chip stranglehold have not brought China to its knees. Beijing seems able to find its feet with self-reliant technological breakthroughs including AI, an overpowering rare-earth trump card and a fruitful geo-economic pivot towards the Global South. 

Hopefully, the following may throw fresh light on some of the dynamics at work.

Website migration 

My current website www.andrewleunginterntionalconsultants.com has been hosted and managed since its inception by Typepad for over two decades. Regrettably, Typepad will shut down permanently after 30 September. Arrangements have been made to migrate my entire website to WordPress, hopefully with an innovative and user-friendly design while preserving as many of the existing  numerous entries as possible. This is likely to take some time. When the new website is ready, I will notify everyone.
